CRISIS INTERVENTION FOR EMPLOYERS

  • Dealing with people in trouble: Often, the person in crisis will seek out someone they trust to confide in such as a supervisor, colleague, or co-worker. Should you find yourself cast in this role, I can help you understand the context of their difficulty and teach you how to guide the person toward appropriate avenues for help. Call 415-440-5505 to set up a consultation.
  • Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD): When a trauma or tragedy has affected a group of people it is essential to be able to return to the original status quo as soon as possible. As the CISD facilitator, my goal is to normalize the feelings associated with the experience and to identify any individuals who may need extra support in coping with the trauma.
  • Lectures and presentations: I am available to talk with your organization about what a crisis is and how to identify people in trouble. I can also discuss community resources available for mental health, mental health law and involuntary hospitalization, and other issues that concern your organization.
I take a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to crisis intervention.

I will help you develop a systematic and effective plan of action. I bring my extensive training and experience to bear on your unique problem. Together we will formulate a strategy for gaining control of the psychological crisis facing you.

Whether over the telephone or in-person (at your location or at my office in San Francisco), my goal is to help families, organizations and individuals quickly understand what is going on and what to do about it. I travel within the United States as well as abroad when requested.

I have over 20 years of experience working with patients who are acutely suicidal and/or psychotic and have conducted extensive research in this area. I am an expert in helping the friends and families of people in crisis access appropriate treatment options and learn how to prevent a future crisis.
